Our Story

Meet the team

In 2019, we opened Dråpe Kaffehus with a simple idea: create a place in Ålesund where people could slow down, meet, read, and talk—built around real hospitality and really good coffee. Dråpe grew into more than a café. It became a daily “third place” for the city: a room where strangers became neighbours, where ideas had space, and where culture could happen naturally.

Forum is the next step. A gallery and a stage alongside a café, created for exhibitions, concerts, conversations, workshops, and everything in between. We’re opening in January 2026, and we’re building it with Ålesund in mind: a space that gives something back to the city, and a programme shaped over time with the people journeying with us.

The front of a building with large windows, a wooden door with an oval glass pane, and a small balcony with a black metal railing. The windows display the word 'form' and show the interior lighting and furniture.

A crowd of people celebrating on a street, many holding Norwegian flags. Some are wearing traditional Norwegian clothing, and a man in the foreground is shouting, wearing a red vest and black hat.
A scenic view of a bay with multiple small islands, a mountain in the background, and a cityscape along the shoreline at sunset.
A seagull standing on top of a bronze statue of a woman wearing a wide-brimmed hat.

Forum is built by a small group spanning architecture, art, technology and hospitality.

Together we create exhibitions, live conversations and cultural events — with care for craft, people, and place.
